Just image 200 people sitting in an
enormous school hall with all eyes focused on one person. You walk on
stage and begin singing the wrong song, at the wrong time, wearing the
wrong costume. |

No this didn’t actually happen, but in
the weeks leading up to St Peter’s performance of Bugsy Malone this
was a frequently recurring dream for the performers. |

There were of course all the usual
skipped and added lines, a few cases of last minute recoveries from
laryngitis and a black hole into which props disappeared, but on the
whole Bugsy Malone was a huge success. |

After the months of hard work the cast
and crew had their three days of glory and fun in the spotlight. It was
an amazing force that brought 6 year levels together and made them all
one cast, united in the attempt to make people laugh at things that
aren’t really funny! |
